Announcement
On September 9, 2025, our Board of Directors approved a resolution officially changing our name from Brazoria County Appraisal District to Brazoria Central Appraisal District, with the change taking effect on January 1, 2026.
The updated name is intended to more clearly reflect our function as an independent appraisal authority serving all taxing units within Brazoria County. While our name is changing, our statutory duties—including the appraisal of property for ad valorem taxation and the administration of exemptions—remain exactly the same.
You may start to notice the new name appearing on forms, correspondence, and online platforms as we complete the transition. This is a branding and administrative update only; it does not affect our organizational responsibilities or the level of service provided to the public.
We appreciate your cooperation during this transition and look forward to continuing our work on behalf of the residents and taxing jurisdictions of Brazoria County.
