The Brazoria Central Appraisal District (BCAD) is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for providing strategic leadership, establishing policy, and overseeing financial operations. Before filing, the individual must sign the acknowledgement form:
Sec 6.0302 of the Texas Tax Code requires a candidate for an appointive or elective position on the board of directors of an appraisal district, whose term begins on or after Jan. 1, 2026, to acknowledge that they have read and understand the duties of a member of the board of directors of an appraisal district. The individual must sign the acknowledgement and submit the signed acknowledgement to the chief appraiser of the appraisal district. An individual may not file an application for a place on the ballot for an elective position on the board of directors of an appraisal district unless the individual has signed the acknowledgement and submitted the acknowledgement to the chief appraiser of the district.
